Watercolor, Mixed Media Abstract Painting, Contemporary Art, Expressionism, “Swimmin’ With The Fishies” by Contemporary Artist Tracy Lupanow

" Murky thoughts, like murky waters, can serve two purposes only: to hide what lies beneath, which is our ignorance, or to make the shallow seem deep"
- Giulio Tononi

I often like to start a painting with spontaneous writing. It helps to clear my mind and channel my intuition. I really love how the writing peeks out from under the many layers of blue, green and turquoise paint, in this vibrant and glowing abstract painting!

Painted with acrylic and charcoal pencil. Mounted to a black cradle board.

24"x24"x .75" Mixed Media and Watercolor on Paper/Available

 $435

"He Loves Me" by Terry Honstead

This 11 x 7 painting was done with one that I had started during a class that I was teaching on beginning mixed media.  I played around adding the different shapes to it and when I got that so that I liked it, I decided it needed flowers as well.  When I got the coneflowers painted onto it, I was happy with the result and did not want to ruin it by attempting to add anything else.  I like the simpleness of it.  If you wish to purchase a copy, you can find it on  terry-honstead.artistwebsites.com, or you may email me at:  honstead@paulbunyan.net.

"Fun and Free" by Terry Honstead

This 8 x 10 Mixed Media painting is not for sale, however, I thought I would post it since it was such a fun project to do.  I love doing these small paintings (small for me anyway!) as a break from the larger paintings that I am working on.  If you would like to see more like this, you can see them at:              terry-honstead.artistwebsites.com/ .

"Blowing in the Wind" by Terry Honstead

This was a fun abstract painting that I did for a demo.  It started out with random paint along with some added gauze and plastic wrap to add some shapes to the color.  Once it dried and I took off the wrap and string, I looked for a "face" anywhere in it and then added paint and  a piece of piece of napkin to bring out the face.  If anyone is interested in seeing more that I made in a similar fashion, you may go to http://terry-honstead.artistwebsites.com/ or email me at honstead@paulbunyan.net.

The Traveler by Terry Honstead

"The Traveler" is a 22 x 15 inch piece that is a part of a series of figurative paintings that I have been doing.  The whole point is to have to look a little harder to see exactly what you think the figure is.  I hope to have several different interpretations for each piece depending on the viewer.  This or other can be seen  or purchased at http://terry-honstead.artistwebsites.com/ or you can email me for more information at honstead@paulbunyan.net .
