Two boys are climbing up a wall. The older one has already made it to the top and is waiting for the younger one to finish scaling up. The sculpture is lighter than it appears although the base is metal, the figures are made from paper clay and Powertex.

This sculpture could be of any woman. She is ageless, exotic and on a mission. Her blowing skirt shows the intent of her actions. While the statue appears to be substantial in weight, because of the materials used it weighs less than two pounds and could easily be shipped to any location.

The paperclay and Powertex figure sitting on driftwood is extremely light although it appears to be sculpted out of bronze. The mermaid sits looking out into the water to see what will appear next.

Mixed Media Abstract Painting "STRIKE IT RICH" by Colorado Artist Carol Nelson

This mixed media painting has a lot of texture, including the prominent “art stones”. There is liberal use of metallic paint and metal leaf, giving the painting a soft glow. I thought it looked especially good in a gold frame, included. As usual, with metallic accents, it was very difficult to get an accurate photo, and it hard to see the shine of the metals. So much better in person. The little gold balls reminded me of gold nuggets. I know it’s not how gold appears to a miner, but if a miner saw this in during the gold rush, he definitely would Strike It Rich, hence the name.
