“Wonder”, Original Mixed Media Painting by Colorado Artist, Donna L. Martin

Wonder

Trees seem to be my thing. I’m always inspired and awed by them. They are always so resilient and ever changing at the same time. They never cease to amaze me. For this piece, I combined many layers of hand-painted papers, inks, and acrylic paint. I also painted “outside of my comfort zone”, using colors that I don’t normally use. Finally, I added modeling paste to add depth and more texture.

This piece is available now on Facebook, Artistic Souls Gallery.

Contemporary Abstract Acrylic Painting "MAGNIFICENT METALS" by Arizona Artist Pat Stacy

The gold mother lode offsets the rusted cruciform on the blue and green patinas with descending squares, spiral and triskelion on the sides. It is framed in a walnut and gold floater frame that offsets it perfectly.

DO YOU STILL SEND CARDS ...

I am going to be discontinuing my line of Midnight Series NoteCards.  For those of you familiar with my work, then you already know I have two lines of cards ... ArtCards (5 x 7 single panel cards very suitable for framing) and the Midnight Series NoteCards.  The Midnight Series are on black cardstock (white writing space inside) and include Birthday, some Sisters, and other General Occasion themes. These are handmade, and because I will now be spending half my year away from 'this' home, access to doing these will not be readily available. I will miss them ... they've become like extended family.  :( Anyway, I have marked the inventory that I have left down to half price ($2.00 ea.) and when they are gone, they are gone. If you are interested to see the choices left just click  HERE.  They can be purchased right through the Website.

These all started out as Mixed Media Collages  :)

Call Me Ishmael, 20x24 Acrylic on Canvas by Carmen Beecher

$225, Click to Purchase

This is new for me. It is poured acrylic that I let dry into a 'skin,' then I peeled it up, cut it apart and arranged the design. It is glued to a stretched canvas. This is a very time-consuming endeavor, but I like the result. I am drying some very light colors now to see what I can do on a dark background.

YORKTOWN HALL MURAL, by Dottie Martz, dottiefromvirginia

Same scene...before and after.....what a difference!  Fun thing to paint and they loved it...I got a big hug.  I know they like it when that happens!
