What more do you need than the beauty and wonder of nature, in all its verdant, blossoming abundance, where every leaf boasts its own pattern, every branch its own journey, and every bloom its own palette? Read more HERE

This reminds me of the miles of Golden Wheat fields down in the Palouse region of Eastern Washington. We were down there last week and the wheat is already peeking up through the soil.
This is one of those Pieces that is already done before you start. I did some very heavy texture on this wood panel. Very abstractly, not really with anything in mind. When the texture had dried and I went back to look at it, I immediately saw the broken tree limb and the rocks. I also saw Winter. I suppose it could have been any other time of the year but for some reason I saw Winter which made it a little more challenging. Winter and cold ... I guess it is just around the corner. :(

This painting is #6 in my Queen Of Light Series. It is a major mixed media creation done on 16x20 textured stretched canvas. Acrylic paints & mediums, metal(gold) leaf (and all that THAT entails!) alcohol inks and collage. Definitely a build it up...tear it down and seal, seal, seal type of thing. Still need to apply the final varnish. Purchase Info Here! or visit my BLOG: Donna Holdsworth Contemporary Art. Thank you!
