I played when I painted Textures. It was such fun to put the texture on, and let the metal paints and patinas go in and out of the grooves. I highlighted the work with the pastels and other acrylics. These are my favorite colors---they are so organic in their look. The painting makes me smile.

The raven is rising, heading for the light. An Indian legend say the raven is responsible for dropping he light--sun, moon, and stars--into the dark sky and so we have light. Done in soft colors, the raven looks strong and sturdy against the soft background.
