Mixed Media Abstract Collage, "Forest Floor" © Carol Nelson Fine Art

"Forest Floor" 8x8 mm collage by Carol Nelson

This is another mixed media collage featuring the air dry clay leaves that I teach students in my mixed media workshops.

A cradled wood panel is an especially good substrate for this type of work because it is a non-flexible solid surface that can support the weight of all the collage materials.

Mixed Media Abstract Painting, "Copper Leaves", © Carol Nelson Fine Art

"Copper Leaves" 8x8 mixed media by Carol Nelson

  FRESH OFF THE EASEL..

This painting was a demo in my recent workshop in Dallas. It features actual live oak leaves that were found all over the ground. I painted them with gold and copper paint, then covered them with epoxy resin.

Also in the painting are prepared tyvek, burlap, and stones.
