It's a whole new creative outlet for me and I am really enjoying the journey.  The fun part is finding ordinary household items and using them in new ways.  I do a lot of recycling with my materials too.

You know how I love texture!  This piece does not require a frame either.  Hope you like it.

Mixed Media Abstract Geometric Art Painting "Boogie Woogie" by Colorado Mixed Media Abstract Artist Carol Nelson

This painting is on a 1.5 inch deep wood panel with the sides painted dark gray.  The gold squares are actually pieces of wood embedded on the highly textured surface, and covered with gold metallic origami paper.  It arrives ready to hang.
