I am working on a painting, and since it is being uncooperative, I decided to do a sketch of myself to use as a profile pic.  Graphite & Conte crayon.  It seems like the mouth is off just a bit.  I have a small mouth and am used to using my daughter as a model.  Her mouth is bigger than mine & she has mega lips so it seems like somethings missing. That and a few wrinkles I guess! ;)  It's close though!  Oh well, back to my painting I must go!  Visit my BLOG:  Donna Holdsworth Contemporary Art.  Thank you!

"James Dean" Sketch By Donna Holdsworth

I have been having a hard time getting back into the art groove since my return from Ohio.  The painting I am working on has been scraped back so many time it's back down to the bare bones!  I decided to post this sketch of James Dean I have been working on.  It is from a 1998 calender photo.  Believe it or not I had a hard time with the cigarette, so I made him a non smoker!  Graphite and Conte pastel on 8x10 Strathmore paper.  Hopefully I will be posting a painting soon!  Visit my BLOG:  Donna Holdsworth Contemporary Art.  Thank you!

"Genesis"Contemporary Art By Donna Holdsworth

This piece is done on 8x10 paper.  I wanted to do the entire thing in dry media.  I almost collaged it to canvas a few times.  My acrylics were calling my name!  I held my ground and stuck to the original plan.  Graphite, Conte, charcoal and chalk pastel.  I hope to incorporate more of these drawings into my work.  Link:  Donna Holdsworth Contemporary Art.  Thank you!
