"Arroyo" mixed media geologic abstract landscape painting by Carol Nelson

This painting is a large (48x36 inch) triptych on three wood panels, each measuring 48x12 inches.  I added a LOT of texture, including gritty modeling compound, rocks, and glass blobs.

The most exciting thing about this painting is hardly even visible in a photo.  The area around the rocks has a pouring of epoxy resin resembling water.

"Circular Divisions" mixed media geometric abstract by CArol Nelson

Circular Divisions

This triptych painting is a simple pattern of lines and circles.  It's really more of a color study than anything else.  The top section is cool palette which gets warmer towards the bottom of each canvas.

Heavy application of modeling compound prior to painting gives the mottled look because the modeling compound absorbs color differently than primed canvas.  I like the variation that occurs naturally.

This is a mixed media painting on canvas 12x12, with a two inch cradle. No need to frame as the painting goes around all sides. This painting has cheery colors and lots of interesting messages and layers of texture. The little sunflower is clay and sculpted by me! Of course I had to add my signature blings to complete the painting. This cheerful painting is for sale and would be uplifting everyday!
