Never. The. Less.
by Dawn Chandler

contemporary figurative painting
mixed media collage

24” x 24” x 1.5

Never.The.Less. is my response to Kyo Gallery's call to create a painting inspired by the idea of "Resist/Recover. " A departure from my usual landscapes, Never. The. Less. is a brief and passionate return to figurative mixed media, as I populate the painting with a community of women from across the ages — including some from my own family.

Never. The Less. is available at Kyo Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia. Contact them here to make this provocative yours .

"Lean on Me" by Minnesota Contemporary Mixed Media artist Terry Honstead

I have been working on this 40 x 40 mixed media painting for quite a while now.  I made the heads out of wire and egg shells and had to attach them to the larger canvas.  I used many different types of papers on the background and have lots of layers!  I have had quite of few comments on this, and they are not all great, but everyone has an opinion and taking the time to really look is actually what I was going for!  I believe I have accomplished my goal with this painting!

"Under the Bridge" by terry Honstead

This  17 x 11 Mixed Media on board was done in layers.  I used the same shape as I used for a previous painting, but the background is totally different, giving this painting a whole different feel.  If you would like to see more, you can go to terry-honstead.artistwebsites.com/ or email me at: honstead@paulbunyan.net.

"Masked" by Terry Honstead

This Mixed Media painting is 11 x 15 and was made with watercolor, fibers, spray paint, and water soluble crayons.  It was a puzzle trying to make it look like I wanted it to look.  It was pretty different in the face area and it took me a while to decided exactly what I was going to do with it.  If you are interested in seeing my progress feel free to go to: http://terryhonstead.wordpress.com .  If you would like to purchase a print, you can find those at:  http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/terry-honstead.html
