Mixed media abstract, "Cattywampus", by Carol Nelson

It's not very often that I start out with cool colors - blues, greens, etc. For this painting I wanted to demonstrate the idea of having the focal point being the color compliment of the rest of the painting.

 This is what I will be teaching in my workshop, Make Abstracts Sing, at Art Unraveled in Phoenix in August. I love teaching in Phoenix in August because outside our class is a patio that is 100+ degrees - perfect for quick drying our texture materials!!

 I will also be teaching this at my Dillman's workshop in Wisconsin in September.
