"Having Fun" 24x24 triptych by Carol Nelson

The title of this piece is what I was doing in my studio. I found these three canvases, and decided I would just play around with some heavy body acrylics and HAVE FUN.

Of course, it wasn't all fun. I revised them several times before I was happy with them.

I am proud of myself for adding the blue passages because that's one color that doesn't show up in my work very often.

Contemporary Abstract Landscape Art,Tree, "Ink Sunset" by Contemporary Arizona Artist Pat Stacy

Our Arizona sunsets are gorgeous. This has some of the same beautiful colors, with inky images of mountains, rocks, and cactus--with even a little creek. Contrary to its name, there is no ink--it is 100% acrylic on heavy watercolor paper. The images are drawn with an needle nose bottle instead of a brush to give the appearance of ink. It is beautifully framed in a black mat with gold liner and gold frame to 16" x 20".
