"Meditation Place" Contemporary Mixed Media Abstract on Canvas by Melody Cleary, Oregon Artist

 

© Melody Cleary 2013.  10 x 10 x 7/8 abstract canvas painting - sides painted soft black.  There are collaged papers worked into the first loose layer of gesso.  Later, some texture that resembles handwriting is created with embossed paper and modeling paste.  Then an underpainting of colors is applied while creating some random organic texture designs.  Then layers of color are applied to reach the final composition.  Detail zoom picture below.
