Noah's Ark Tray by Dottie Martz

Original art on 18x13 metal tray.     Painted for a competition that I was juried into for the Decorative Painters Society several years ago..  I painted this tray in acrylics.  It is my version of what happened that day.

I am now painting exclusively in oils.  Yes, you can paint a metal tray in oils...just takes a VERY long time to dry as there is no absorbency!   I must admit, though, I do think acrylics are best for metal trays.  I have painted animals, flowers, landscapes, etc. on metal trays ans sold them all.

When I say I am painting in oils these days...it is because I am painting still life.  I love painting flowers and such and I think it shows in my work.  I belong to FPDP -  the Fresh Paint Daily Painters,  CFAI -  Contemporary Fine Artists International,  OPA - Oil Painters of America and WPSE - Women Painters of the Southeast, where in fact, there is a show that I was juried in at Corse Gallery in Jacksonville, Fl the 23rd of this month (April).   I also was juried into a 21st Annual International Miniature Art Show, in Nags Head, NC.  I submitted three small paintings and one sold before the show started!

Please check my website for further paintings.  I also do commission work and gladly give quotes.
